Welcome

We are focused on providing the perfect environment for Homeschoolers to exceed their educational milestones while also growing in confidence and character. We have both teacher-designed lessons and a carefully chosen learning space where children can safely develop skills and friendships.

  • We are a drop-off program for K-1 students meeting near Lassiter Highschool on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30am- 12:30pm.
  • Our teacher has a Masters degree in Early Childhood Education and is Orton-Gillingham trained.
  • There is no need to purchase required curriculums. We will teach age-appropriate core skills while still allowing the space for families to choose the curriculum that best supports their individual student.

Our pod is a space where kids with different learning styles can thrive, including those who are gifted or have challenges like dyslexia, processing differences, or managed ADD. We are not trained or equipped in special education nor are we able to handle behavioral issues or disorders and will not accept students with aggressive or disruptive tendencies.

This program is designed and taught by a qualified teacher. The core skill instruction will encompass reading, writing, math, and unit studies that are both engaging and age-appropriate. The small group instruction will allow students the opportunity to work one-on-one with their teacher, while also allowing her to partner closely with parents and give feedback on how to better support their students at home.

The lessons are developed around GA school standards to ensure your child is receiving grade-appropriate instruction at a pace that works best for them. We do not require a specific curriculum to be purchased, as we believe parents should have the space to supplement with the material of their choice. However, we may hand out occasional homework to reinforce the lessons on the days the pod does not meet.

The teacher to student ratio is 1:6

What type of activities will the children participate in?

We are creating a quality progam that is built on the kids enjoying their learning experience. They will participate in structured lessons, group games, arts and crafts, free play, and community service projects.

Is my child still considered homeschooled when attending this pod?

Yes, though we are designing lessons to GA standards, all students are still considered homeschooled and will need to fill out the Declaration of Intent as outlined by GA Department of Education.

Will my student be tested?

No, there are no formal tests or grades for the students. However, there may be an occasional teacher assesment of student progress to help provide more helpful feedback for families.

What is a learning pod?

A learning pod is a small, voluntary group of students, usually 3-12, who come together to learn in a more personalized, community-based setting. Learning pods often operate outside of traditional school environments and can be teacher-led or co-led by parents or tutors. You can learn about the learning pod protection act S.B 246 at Georgia General Assembly (.gov)
